Set in 1910s Budapest, a ball at a famous artist's residency becomes the scene of a murder when the host, Klara, is poisoned and killed. Among the guests is Estella, the wife of a gambler, who takes it upon herself to investigate the case. Recalling the events of that fateful night, Estella freezes time and walks between the guests, trying to inspect everyone closely and figure out the killer's motive.
